Davit Arm Systems are utilised in scenarios where there is a need for a confined space entry in areas that do not have a primary means of access, such as lack of ladder or step irons, and a tripod cannot be used. These systems can also be executed as an emergency standby for evacuating casualties. The Davit Arm can lower an operative into a confined space and place them in a work position. Upon fulfilment of the work, the system will then raise them back up to safety. With two back-up options, Davit Arm Systems are intrinsically safe. One of the back-up designs is the incorporated man-riding winch, which features a built-in fall arrest safety brake and brake wear indicator. The alternative back-up design is a separate recovery block which is supplied as standard by Zenith Survey.
