Zenith Survey Equipment Limited was originally founded in 1983 by Paul Finney and Tim Long, starting from nothing and operating from rented portacabins in the car parking area of our present Head Office buildings. Paul and Tim were already experienced in the UK Survey Industry, both being previous employees of WATTS and so had an excellent grounding for the business.
Zenith soon grew enough to purchase the property, Paragon House in Ossett near Wakefield, and rapidly expanded to become the largest Surveying equipment supply company in Yorkshire.
We subsequently expanded again, opening our Middlesbrough Branch to provide offices based in the North East in 1996, and then by acquiring our Manchester offices, taking over from Topcon GB in 2002.
Our Lincoln branch opened in 2006 ensuring a full comprehensive coverage of the North of England by our branches and representatives.
We now have a small branch in Kent serving our southern and trade customers.
One of our major acquisitions was to purchase Survey Connection (Scotland) Limited from two other survey suppliers; Leica UK Limited and M&P Survey Limited. As we rapidly expanded Survey Connection, it was then soon moved from its location in Edinburgh to prime office space in Livingston, West Lothian to provide the additional office, workshop and storage space required.
Datum Survey Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zenith Survey Equipment Limited, was formed to offer the DATUM brand of survey products to our customers.
Datum products are high quality yet economical, affordable products, produced to our exacting specification or design. We have a dedicated team of Datum Trade Managers and Trainers who look after all of our trade outlets throughout the UK, providing products support, training and advice.
Zenith Survey Equipment Limited also has its own Safety Division, As with other divisions at Zenith, experts in the field were employed to provide the expertise to advise customers and run the division as appropriate to the specialisation required in this area. Leading manufacturer’s equipment is supplied, and full calibration and service facilities have been invested in by Zenith to ensure they are maintained and supported to the highest level.
Zenith also has an active busy Export Division, providing equipment worldwide to customers at competitive prices. Large stocks of fully reconditioned equipment helps us to provide equipment from all leading manufacturers to segments of the market that are often unable to afford new equipment, and we often provide specialist equipment that is difficult to source elsewhere in the world.
